Eagle Wings is an annual fundraiser held during D.C. Eagle Anniversary Weekend, in November.
Proceeds from previous years have been donated to local DC charities, including Metro Teen Aids, Food & Friends, Pets-DC, Duke Ellington School of the Arts and the Trevor Project, among others.
Eagle Wings is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity organization.
Eagle Wings was just held on November 18th, 2016 upstairs on the third floor of the DC Eagle in the dance club called The eXile. As usual, the event was a smashing success and we look forward to announcing the total raised and the date for next years Eagle Wings very soon.
This year’s beneficiary was Whitman-Walker Health for their HIV Education / Outreach Programs.
“Our mission is to be the highest quality, culturally competent community health center serving greater Washington’s diverse urban community, including individuals who face barriers to accessing care, and with a special expertise in LGBT and HIV care.”
“Whitman-Walker Health’s Community Health Department is dedicated to supporting our community’s health and well-being through a variety of education, prevention and wellness programs.”
Persons interested in contributing for next year are encouraged to drop off donations (leather, boots, posters, home furnishings, gift certificates, etc.) close to the date of the event next year (2017) at the D.C. Eagle, indicating that the items are for Eagle Wings.
